I encounter News load error with jtEconNew2a indicator.
Msg: The remote name could not be resolved:'cloud.forexfactory.com'

Please Help.

Hello,

There is currently reported issues with this indicator doing this and also crashing NinjaTrader.


Please remove this indicator and then contact the indicator developer for further instructions once he has an update to resolve.

Check if they installed as an assembly via:

- Start NT
- File > Utilities > Remove NinjaScript Assembly
- Remove this file

If it does not exist there then have them remove the CS file

- Start NT
- Tools > Edit NinjaScript > Indicator
- Highlight the indicator and press the “Delete” button

cloud.forexfactory.com is down therefore any News Reader drawing data from there(including the one I wrote) will not work until FF gets it fixed. ForexFactory is aware of the issue.

Update;

Edit your script where the source for the news reader is "cloud.forexfactory.co...." to "http://www.forexfactory.com/ffcal_week_this.xml". Recompile and it should work. ForexFactory apparently decided to change the location of the data.

Time to make that a parameter with a default, but that can be changed from the user config GUI?

I have just downloaded and imported this indicator. It is showing up when I got to Tools>EditNinjaScript>Indicator, but when I try to select it from the Indicator list for a chart, it is not there. It also doesn't show up in File>Utilities>RemoveNinjaScriptAssembly. If this can be fixed, how do I go about it. If it can't, does anyone have another similar news indicator for NT7? This indicator for NT8 works great, but I need something for NT7.

Hello vickisb,

I tried the version that is listed in the publicly available user app share, and see the following error when opening the indicators list:

System.Net.WebException: The remote name could not be resolved: 'cloud.forexfactory.com'

It looks like this is the same error which created this thread, the solution in post #4 would still apply as the author of this indicator had not updated the app share download. You would need to replace the old non-working URL in the indicators code with the one suggested in post #4 and then recompile the script.

The line that holds the URL seems to be line 78 in the script.

After doing this change, it should show up as EconomicNews in the list.
