Optimization Binging on memory usage

Memory usage goes to 96% and sits there with no cpu cycles....

Is there a file that outputs any errors that are taking place during the optimization that would show a problem? I checked the log and trace files and no messages are in there during the time of the run.

The only way to get this to quit is to kill process, which also seems to have negative effects on ninjatrader the next time its opened...any ideas?

Yes, errors are logged to the trace file.
My Documents\NinjaTrader\Trace

There isn't an additional place these would be logged. NinjaTrader places no limits to the number of tests you can run at any given time so it's possible the optimization process is still running. If you can send screenshots of your optimizer run, this should provide us more details about the type and number of optimizations you're doing.

Ryan what do you mean of the run? The Status Screen showing time remaining or what? I dont get much feedback when its running other than from the taskmanager??

The optimizer settings. Inputs expanded with from, to, and increment filled in. If you have a strategy we can use to see the issue, can include that as well and we can compare.

I may have fixed the problem. I had a factor that was tied to 2 exits i had mislabeled. I am not sure why it would necessarily cause extreme memory usage but when i changed it the memory usage dropped significantly. Most of the run stays under 1gb.
