    Backup File Question

This is somewhat trivial question, but I am new, so please bear with me.

Every time I do back up, it creates a new file. So now I noticed that there are several backup files in the backup directory.

Each of those files are self-contained? Or are they "layered" one on top of another, like so many back up programs, to save time on back up?

Or in practical terms, can I erase the earlier dated backup files if I only need to preserve the latest set up?

    Thanks

    Hello Paladin,

    Thank you for your post.

Each one of these backups do not reference the other existing backups. It is a self contained file.

You can delete earlier backups, note this is at your own discretion.
