Sim vs. Real account, on free vs. license NT

I have a real account with a broker, and am currently using the free version of NT. If I place an order, it will not execute through the broker, but on the sim account, correct?

Now, if I purchase NT and am able to execute live orders, what if I only want to do a sim order? Is there somewhere I can specify that the account should be the sim account and not the live account?

Thank you for your post.

If you input your Live NinjaTrader license key then you will be able to access both your Live & simulated trading accounts.

The simulation license key will not allow you to access your Live brokerage account – only the SIM 101 account.

Hi Serninja,

Chip was referring only to those orders placed through NinjaTrader. Orders in other platforms may or may not reach your brokerage account.
