    Hi BillWu,

Based on my testing, that load time is as we'd expect generally. Ultimately, the only way to improve load times is to reduce what items are loading. That said, if you're only running 1 5 minute chart which calls for 2 days of back data, there's not much more to reduce.

      Hello Kyle,
I just tried MultiCharts new free trading platform with IB data feed, if you call a new chart, it will take the same time to load, about 3-5 seconds, however, if you repeat to call the chart, it will load instantly, but in NT7, when you do the repeat request of a chart, it will take the same time, could you let me know something wrong with my setup?

      For example,
In NT7, on the same one chart, I loaded GOOG, AAPL, AND AMZN, then I come back to GOOG, APPL, and AMZN again, it will take the same time 3-5 seconds each

In Multicharts, on the same one chart, I loaded GOOG, AAPL, and AMZN, then I come back to them again, it will load chart instantly.

        Hi billwu,

The other platform is likely loading data from some sort of internal database. NinjaTrader will reload the entire data set if any portion of the set is unavailable within it's own database. As a result, changing instruments on a chart (for example) would result in a totally new data request from IB.

I believe if you check the box under Options/Data to save data as historical, it will reload from your local disk first if it is available (that is, having been viewed previously).

Am I reading this correctly? Are you saying that when I open Ninja Trader in the morning after having closed it and my computer the previous evening that since there is a gap in the cached database that a request will go to the historical database for ALL of the data for the selected time periods and not just the missing data?

I am experiencing (Sat evening and Sun AM) hugh delays in opening and filling charts. Up to 30 Min. I am connected to Zen Fire at start and I have the save as historical box checked. And checked or unchecked the performance is about the same. Have done restarts etc. Any ideas???

Same problem here, NinjaTrader freezes up when trying to connect, though in my case my connection to Zen-Fire never gets through. The "infamous" 'Please check your account connection parameters....'-message appears after 15 minutes or so. With the same settings, connecting yesterday went okay and with no hangs or delays.

This probably is caused by Zen-Fire being offline in the weekend for maintenance, but why NinjaTrader should hang and have huge delays when connecting to Zen-Fire, I don't know.

Market now open on Sunday evening. Dome is moving but nothing on charts. Still getting error message that the server is not available. Help from Broker "USeless" Says this is normal and it will be Monday before charts are back. Lots of help there what!!!

There were reports of items earlier this evening, however as of now, the historical data servers are back up and running.

Please make sure to restart NinjaTrader and reconnect. If you are missing any data between now and the globex open, please make sure to right click on your chart and select 'reload all historical data'.
