Memory leak or something

For reasons too complicated to go into, I can only forward test my strategy. I use the market replay data and do a lot of replay in a given day.

At some point (I can't give an exact point), NinjaTrader replay slows to a crawl. At 500x it is moving almost at real time speed. This happens the most when I have had particularly long tests vs a lot of small tests covering the same amount of replay time.

I wish I could be more specific but I can say that after time passes a weekend (and therefore the replay timer keeps moving but there is no data to display), things get better for a little bit but then they slow down just as badly if not worse again.

Finding this is not likely to be easy but I would not dismiss it as I have been programming for commercial software companies for approximately 107 years and this is a definite bug.

Hi,

In watching carefully, it almost appears the issue is some background update that occurs around filling an order. One possibility is simply the order/executions grid update takes a while if there are several hundred orders (or more) already in the grid.

To help track this down we can work from your workspace files which will allow us to duplicate your layout.

We'll also need to know:

• What days of market replay data downloaded.
• What instrument.
• What interval.
• Specific activity that leads to excessive memory leaks. If it only happens with strategies for example, please try with sampleMaCrossover so that we can eliminate your custom code as possibility.
