Dissident Pivots

hello,

i have a questions about the pivot indicator in ninja trader. its showing me pivots dissident from the ones i find in the internet. i know there are a lot different methods of calculating them, but i joined a webinar where the screen of the organizer showed the pivots i found on the net. he was using nt 6.5 with the indicator from this site. so i tried out many settings, but none of them showed me those pivots i was looking for. any ideas?

i also tried the one i found here in the forum, but still not the pivots i was looking for.
here are for example the pivots for 18.1.2011 for crude oil found on futurepros

mine are with both indicators diffrent. do i have to change settings of the indicator?

Hello Phillip,

Pivot levels can vary a lot based on session times and the actual data used. Please see here for more info on how pivots are calculated in NinjaTrader.

If you want similar values to an external site, best is to use UserDefinedValues calculation mode and type in the values for Close, High, and Low.

thanks for your quick answer. i already found out what the problem was.
i just had to calculate the pivots on the intraday data and not the daily bars.
