    Drawings gone after upgrade to new Ninja 7

    I was using the Ninja 7 beta in Nov. And on upgrading to the new Ninja 7 , my chart drawings are gone. Is there a fix? (I searched the forum but couldn't find any posts).

    thx.

    Hello kinderlich,

    Thank you for your post.

    Where the drawings saved as a part of your Workspace? If so can you please open the saved Workspace and let me know if the drawing objects are visible anywhere within your chart window.

    Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

      yes they were saved in a workspace (and no, there are no drawings visible anywhere). There must have been a format change (or similar) because when I save the workspace to a new file its size is reduced (i had lots of drawings) . I tried to reinstall with the old installer to get back the ninja 7 beta (i think it was beta 19) but it installs the new Ninja 7. Is there a way to reinstall beta19?). If I can reinstall the old one I can at least review my drawings.

        Prior to upgrading to the new version of NInjaTrader did you happen to delete you NinjaTrader 7 folder? If this folder was deleted unfortunately there is not an option to retrieve your drawing objects.

          I've , never deleted anything. Also I looked inside the workspace xml file. It has the chart objects .

          For instance an ellipse is represented as
          __________________________-

          <ChartObjects>
          <ChartObject0>
          <ClassName>NinjaTrader.Gui.Chart.ChartEllipse</ClassName>
          <ChartObject>
          ........
          __________________________
          but when I load this workspace, no ellipse (no drawings in general) and when I save the workspace to a new xml file, that new file has no ellipse objects in it. So its some kind of format change, the new program does not read the old xml files .

          Is there a way to reinstall the old version (say beta 19) ?

            Unfortunately the older Beta versions of NinjaTrader 7 are no longer available. If add drawing objects to your current chart and save the Workspace do the object populate upon startup?

              Yes , adding new objects works.

              Its very crude (and lots of work), but I'll edit the xml file and put in the old object definitions into the new xml file and that should work.

              anyway thanks for your advice.
