    Problem with Synchronization

    Hi,

My strategy options are as follows:

    a) Immediately submit live historical orders
    b) Synchronize = True

I am running two strategies on the same instrument (eg: EURUSD), on the same account. It just so happens that one has a historical flat position, while the other has a historical long position. When I activate them both, these strategies interfere with each other!

For example, I am long on Strategy A and Flat on Strategy B. My current account position is flat.

    This is what happens:

    1) When Strategy A is activated, NT synchronizes my account's actual flat position with the historical long position entered by strategy A. NT opens a long position on my account.

    2) When Strategy B activates a few seconds later, NT synchronizes my account's newly created long position with Strategy B's historical flat position. It closes out the newly created long position on my account, leaving me flat.

Does this imply that I cannot run two different strategies on the same security on the same account? Must I open two accounts with my broker to run two different strategies on the same instrument?

    Thanks!

skyholder84, strategies do not cross communicate between each other, so at the time you start them up the autoSync can only take into consideration one strategy - in your scenario please disable the sync and sync manually with a market order as needed (taking the overall strategy position into account) or use WaitUntilFlat to take the next live signals then,

      I see.

On another note, I'm having a separate problem which occurs in JPY currency pairs. Before I reinstalled NT7 on my new computer, the P&L which I received from those pairs was rightly recorded in USD.

Now, after the reinstallation of NT7, my P&L on those pairs is recorded in JPY, making it really difficult to know my net P&L at a glance. Is there any way I can get NT7 to record my USD P&L on JPY pairs like it did in the past?

skyholder84, what broker / data provider would you use and where (Strategies tab?) are you seeing this PnL display changed with R2?

        Thanks

Hi Bertrand, I use Barchart. Not sure which version of NT7, but it is 7.0.1000.2. Never had this problem before. Problem reflected in both positions and strategies tabs.

skyholder, if you look at the execution report - what conversion rate is applied to it?

              Thanks

Hi skyholder84, further investigation revealed a bug here, which we'll look into.

                  Sorry for the late reply.

The conversion rates on the problematic pairs are all listed as 1.

Hope the bug will be fixed soon. Am I on Version R2, and is there any previous version I can revert back to for now before the bug is fixed?

The bug does not take effect in NT7 R1 (just tested here), which you could still download from our download site - http://www.ninjatrader.com/download-registration.php
