    Clarification on Position.AvgPrice and Position.MarketPosition

    Hi, I need some clarification.

Are Position.MarketPosition and Position.AvgPrice determined with reference to my account or my strategy?

My problem is that Strategy A runs alongside other strategies which might be long or short in the same asset. I want my strategy to run independently regardless of what my account position is. Hence, it should be looking to trade when the strategy position is flat even if the account position is long as a result of other strategies trading the same asset.

I believe that Position.AvgPrice and Position.MarketPosition are determined in relation to the strategy and not the account position (in which I have no need for worry), but I would just like to confirm that is the case.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

You are correct in your understanding. A NinjaScript strategy has no bearing on what the actual account is long or short, this is built this way by design just for your situation. Therefor each strategy running will have its own Position attributes. Aka, one strategy can be long and another short. Leaving your account position in a flat state.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
