Annoying things at left end of chart

    Hello guys,

I wanted to post a summary of little annoying things happening only when getting to the end of historical data (the left most of the chart)

I'm experimenting with free daily data (yahoo and kinetick)
I have latest version of NT7

    1. when dragging the chart with the mouse, the first days of a stock (the left most data of the chart) refuse to show themselves easily.
I have to drag 3 to 4 times to "convince" the chart to show me the first bars (for example google stock which I study).
This happens everytime, so I guess it's not a bug?... I don't know.
First bars of the stock are hardest to see, always struggling there.

    2. Now another thing appeared (which impelled me to write this post at least for reference).
    When near the first bars,
If scrolling the chart towards first bars (scrolling with the mouse wheel),
    The chart disappears altogether.
If I scroll the chart backwards (towards the present moment), the chart appears again.

Maybe it's only with my version I don't know,
    Hope I help with this,

    Success

    Hello mishhh

    Thank you for your post.

I tried to recreate this issue on my end but was unable.

Please provide an example (stock & start date) that would allow me to trigger this issue.

    Thank you,

      Hello Chip,

Ok, I've recreated the situation on another computer..

      1. I've installed the latest version from scratch (nt 7.0.1000.1)
      2a. I've connected to kinetick
2b. I loaded GOOG, google stock
      3. I've dragged around with the mouse and everything was ok. I could even drag the chart beyond (to the left) first days of trading for GOOG. Here I thought the problem was because I've installed NT7 from scratch....but
      4. From chart settings, I've set Equidistant bar spacing to False.
      5. The problem appeared. I couldn't drag the chart like when equidistant bar spacing was set to True. The problem dissapears when this option is set to True.
      6. Moreover, going to Data Series properties window,
      7. After I load the Default 24/7 session template,
      8. And going to the first days of trading for GOOG (the left most bars),
      9. and zooming in 2-3 times roughly,
      10. I cannot zoom out through the mouse or through Ctrl + up/down shortcut keys.

but, if I set Equidistant bar spacing to True, dragging and zooming out work smoothly.

So the issue appears only when Equidistant bar spacing is False.

I need to use Equidistant bar spacing + Default 24/7 session template to be able to display calendar days, true fixed time axis on charts (for now I'm playing with daily charts, but later I will want to get into hourly charts)

I hope it makes sense and it helps.

      ps.
I couldn't replicate the dissapearance of all GOOG chart when scrolling with mouse. near the first days of trading (left most bars), but this is not important right now.

        The ruler also presents glitches.

Just now I've realised these glitches happen only near left most bars (first trading days).
And these glitches are independent of Equidistant bar spacing option.

The glitches I'm reffering to are about editing the ruler after its creation.
I mean, dragging the 3 points of the ruler left and right.
When dragging ruler's points towards right of the chart, it's ok.
When dragging towards left, it doesn't work. Or it works rarely.

If I create a ruler in the middle of the chart, far away from first trading days, ruler behaves smoothly.

        I hope this makes sense,
        Merry Christmas too

        ---update---
        ps.
first trading days or left most bars for GOOG are about august 2004 (I forgot to mention this)
