    error connecting multiple IB account

    Hi

    Error:
    I have tried to connect to 2 different IB account
    First account with default socket port = 7496 ,client ID = 0
    Second account with socket port = 7497 (different), client ID =0

    First account connection: OK
    Second account connection : "login failed: IB.Adapter.MessageLoop"

    > Ninja Version : 6.0.1000.5 (Live), TWS 875.3

    When I for the second account connection give the login manually and then connect via NT the connection is established, strange...

    anybody same problem ??

    Thanks for reporting this issue. NT does not support running 2 TWS instances on the same machine. We'll add it to our list.

      Connecting To Multiple IB Accounts (multiple TWS instances) Simultaneously
      You can connect to multiple TWS instances by creating two separate connections in the NinjaTrader Connection Manager. Just repeat the steps above with one exception. Set the different port numbers for each connection. For example:
      TWS Instance One - Configure > API > Socket Port = 7496
      TWS Instance Two - Configure > API > Socket Port = 4000
      When setting up a connection for each TWS instance, ensure that the correct port numbers are reflected.

        That is correct, meaning you can connect to multiple instances of TWS if they are running already. However, NT does not support starting multiple instances at this time (as you experienced).

          Is it still valid?

          Is this still correct?

          Today, I tried to connect to two TWS, on real account and one paper trading. I got error message when trying to connect to second tws. (Both are started manually before connection attemp).

          Error message is generic, something like "Login failed. Socket closed. (no more data to read)."

            Hi hongchen2000,

            Thank you for reporting this.

            We've encountered this error a few times recently. In all cases, the issue could be resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling TWS.

              Hi Hongchen2000,

              there is a solution, albeit not for free:

              Together with NinjaTinyMobileTrader comes a helper application that launches the TWS and then triggers a connection with NinjaTrader. This helper application was specifically designed to support multiple TWS instances. (So to avoid the NT limitation)
