24 hour ES trading

I am just starting out with NT. I use IB for data and trading. When the market closes the IB feed to NT stops although I can still buy ES thru my IB interface. Is this a IB issue or NT issue? How can I buy ES using NT on a round the clock basis?

Am I correct the NinjaTrader chart does not receive real-time data anymore when the market closes?

If so, can you please right click in the chart and select 'Data Series'. Likely, 'Session template' is set to <Use instrument settings>.

Please go to Control Center-->Tools-->Instrument Manager, highight the instrument in question and click Edit. You can now view what session template is used.

Subsequently go to Control Center-->Tools-->Session Manager. You can now see what times are used by the session template. Likely, it excludes the time you checked the chart.

If you select the 'Default 24/7' session template in the Data Series menu, it does not exclude time and you will receive real-time if provided.

Session is set to 24/7

Session manager is set to default 24/7. I also noticed that the charts in TWS do not update although ES prices are quoted and I assume if I place an order for one future the order will fill. Does anyone know is there is a 24 hour ES data feed and how I can get an order filled using NT?

ES is available 24 hours a day. I'm not sure why the TWS charts would stop updating. We'd suggest that you follow up with IB support on that particular issue.

The ES contract is only available for trade approx 23 hours per day.
