    View Historical Data in Charts

I successfully imported historical tick data that I called GFT.EURUSD. When I go to the Historical data manager and click on edit, I see the price values from the source file that I used (CLEAN_EURUSD_BID.Bid.txt) and all of the dates.

How do I associate the imported data with the instrument that I created?

I tried setting all of the symbol maps to GFT.EURUSD. When I try to open a chart, I get this error message:

Error on loading chart data for '$GFT.EURUSD Default': Error (errServerSideNotEntitled) on loading historical data

      Hello texasnomad,

      Thank you for your post.

Which instrument are you trying to import this data to? The instrument data is imported to is dictated by the name of the file - as there is no instrument named '$GFT.EURUSD', you wouldn't be authorized by your data provider, so that error would be the expected result.

So if I want to create an instrument named Tick.EURUSD and I wanted to import Bid prices, then I need to
        a) Create a new instrument called Tick.EURUSD
        b) Rename my data file to Tick.EURUSD.Bid.txt
        c) Redo the import

        Is that correct?

          texasnomad,

I'm not sure if that will actually do the trick for you - you'd likely encounter the same issue.

Is there any reason you're not simply importing this data in to EURUSD?

Because that's too obvious and I enjoy making my life unnecessarily complicated ;-)

I'll let you know how it goes.

That went smoother. The imported tick data now appears under EURUSD. It has correct values associated with it and the import appears to have gone smoothly.

Now when I open a chart, it opens but no price data appears. Am I forgetting some final step?

                texasnomad,

You mentioned that the data you were importing was not Last Price data. Is the chart set to use bid prices?
