Volume charts

I use volume data instead of tick or time data to create charts and there is a big difference between NT6.5 and 7. I use Zen-Fire and if I create a chart of 6E 03-11 using 6000 volume going back 14 days NT7 and NT6.5 create very different charts, NT7 generates a lot more data than there was actual volume for that contract. What is NT7 using to create volume charts as it doesn’t appear to be actual volume data?

Thanks for your forum post.

You have a couple thing in play here in NT7.

NinjaTrader 7 now auto merges previous contract data in. If you do not want this goto Control Center->Tools->Options->Data Tab->Merge Policy->DoNotMerge.

Also, please insure you are using a session template that will equal your 6.5 experience. Such as Default 24/7 this is set in Right click on the chart and Data Series.
