Hi

I found a small glitch with the 3rd Party Licensing.

On the 3rd Party Licensing application, you can enter a User Defined ID that contains spaces, the @ sign, the '." and other non alphanumeric characters and generate a Machine ID based on that.

On the Vendor License Management application, you can't have a Machine ID with those characters.

So - you could have customers creating machine ids that vendors couldn't use.

Pete, thanks for reporting in, but I'm not sure I follow you - customers would not be able to create a machine Id, it will be generated while installing NT on their PC.

The ID the user enters is here....



This generates a machine id. This machine id is invalid because of the space and cannot be used by the vendor to grant that id a license.
