Question re cache

What is the purpose of the cache folder under db since the contract data is already on the local drive, is this just a hangover from 6.5?

Paul,

This is not hangover from NT6.5. The cache directory is for caching bar series information that you have already loaded before. Instead of having NT run through CPU cycles every time to try and generate different bar types like 100 tick or 150 tick via aggregating all the tick data to build it, there is a cache maintained for work your CPU has already done.

This cache improves performance considerably.
