Thank you for your help tracking this down. We expect charts to roll forward with a new day but to resolve this we need a reproducible scenario to show development. This needs to be with one workspace and identifying the factors that lead to an issue. Running with several workspaces with several charts is unfortunately not going to get us to a reproducible scenario.

Below are additional questions we need to look at to pinpoint this.
Which exact data providers does this happen? Which order do you use to connect to these?
Which instruments/instrument types does this happen?
Which period type (1 day bars, 10 minute bars, 150 tick bars), and does that make a difference ?
Did you use market replay shortly before ?
What are the session settings, and what timezone are you in ?
Are the chart(s) in the workspace opened at NT start or in a 'hidden' workspace ?

At the roll of a day at 12:00 AM:
Is NinjaTrader connected to a provider ? If yes, to which ?

What is your sequence when you disconnect/close NT/shutdown PC on the day to which date the charts got stuck ?

Well I'll do what I can, but I can't disrupt my entire operation. My plan is to start a new workspace and put one chart that has the most chance of failing. When you say, "one workspace" do you mean only one open workspace, or can others by open but not active (I think you call this hidden)? Also, is this supposed to work (date rollover) if the computer goes into hibernation overnight and then is pulled out of hibernation?

I'll answer the questions I can below, but one case I have noticed appears reproducible. I have a chart with the following:
      1) Primary instrument = TF 03-11, 15min bars
      2) Secondary instrument = URTY, 15min bars, new panel.
      3) Tertiary instrument = SRTY, 15min bars, new panel.
      4) Primary data connection, Vision Financial provides futures data (TF)
      5) Secondary data connection, Interactive Brokers provides stock/index data (URTY/SRTY).
      6) No use of market replay.
      7) EDT timezone.
      8) US Equities RTH for all 3 instruments.
      9) The open active workspace, not hidden.
      10) Only happens in the morning at first time out of hibernation.
      11) Only URTY and SRTY dates do not roll over. TF is fine.
      12) Other charts with URTY and SRTY will roll-over if they are primary.

Yes, charts should roll forward after hibernation but if this is contributing we need to isolate that as a possible factor.

One workspace is for simplification and isolation purposes. If the issue is only seen with multiple workspaces, then of course we'll need to setup this test. We just need to be able to reproduce using as simplified a setup as possible and 20 different workspaces will not work for this.

We will have to take things step by step. Right now I have the case I already described that is absolutely reproducible. One workspace has a single chart, and that chart has TF/URTY/SRTY as instruments. The TF rolls and the URTY/SRTY do not (200 days back on 15min chart). However, I have 4 other workspaces "hidden" so they are technically open as well. - Why this matters, I have no idea and I don't believe it does. Sounds like engineers trying to avoid their work (I know because I'm a senior principal software engineer), but whatever. One of these days I'll keep just the one workspace open and watch the same thing happen... BTW, why don't you guys just do that same thing? This is not rocket science; open one workspace and put these three instruments in a chart (200 day, 15 min bar) and watch it not roll over overnight. Also note that the computer was on and live, with live data connections during the 12:00AM roll and it still happened.

            Ryan,
Can you let me know if anyone is working this, or are you waiting for something from me? I believe I've answered all the questions and gave a very specific and reproducible scenario.

Yes, I will test this again tonight on a couple different computers. Can you provide the workspaces and let me know which one to work from? Will start using the 4 - 5 workspaces you indicated and try from there.

I've not yet received updated workspace files. Please send to my attention at [email protected]

It works best if the instruments you're using in your workspaces are already defined with the default instrument manager, but can add these if they're needed to see the issue.

Thanks for the files. I will setup a test this evening.

Which is the active workspaces? There are still 20 here attached. We need to be able to setup a test for this and cannot if you send all your workspace files to us. Please see my post 16 for a description of what we're looking for.

There is only one open/active workspace: TradeCOM URTY. No other work-spaces are even open or hidden. I guess when it packages up the workspaces it just grabs everything, even old unused ones.

Development has been working on this and there should be a fix available in the next version. Please let us know if you see this again once the new version has been released.

Great. I should mention that I think there are other cases, but they were harder to reproduce. I guess we'll see what the next version fixes.

I've been running 7.0.10002, the latest NT since it was released. The date rollover problem is still there. I can't fathom why this is so hard to fix, or why it is claimed to be fixed when it is not. Perhaps it got a little better? Seems to me the whole strategy for rolling over the date is flawed. I keep saying this but nothing is done about it. If they had a property setting that says "All charts are to be kept updated to today's date" then when 5 charts are yesterdays and 5 are today's, the software can update the 5 that are behind, even if it missed the rollover. This way it is not "implicit" based on whether the software thinks the date rolled or not, but is "explicit" in that all charts are to be kept up to date, it is in the properties. - Is this concept understood by development? - Is there a reason they can't do it?

Finally, what usually happens at this point is a request for me to send all my workspaces in. Then NT responds that either 1) They can't reproduce it, or 2) My workspaces are too complex. Yet this problem would not exist if the property issue was put into place and corrected.

                                Thanks for considering this solution.
