Ema's not displaying correctly
On a chart I had an 8 period EMA and a 21 period EMA. The chart shows a great deal of space between them but the data box shows the same value for both EMAs'. Please see attached picture.Tags: None

The price changed on the next bar. The 2 ema's did not cross for almost another hour. The values change seemingly correctly until the lines get within a couple of ticks of each other. The same thing occurred twenty minutes later.
I would like to know if the data box is correct or is the chart correct.

Say Whut?
Bear with me, I'm old. I don't follow what you just said.
If the values were the same the two ema's would touch.
TF 12-10 only has one decimal place to the right of the decimal.
What is being truncated?
The Y-Axis shows the same values as the Data Box.
Are you saying this is some sort of rounding error?

ThatManFromTexas,
What I'm saying is this:
The databox shows price values only. Since this instrument's ticks move only 1 decimal out, that is what is shown. (ex: 768.7)
The indicator, on the other hand, is making calculations which more often than not do not fall on a even price value, but instead end up with fractions. (ex: 768.7xxxxxxx)
While the indicators are displayed on the chart at their actual output level (768.7xxxxxxx), those same indicators are displayed in the databox using the closest price value, in this case 768.7.
Does that clear things up?KyleNinjaTrader Customer Service

Ok, I get it now ..... I will need to re-write the EMA indicator provided by NT if I want accurate charts.

eDanny,
As usual , you are correct sir . I was just irritated that it happened while I was trading live and spooked me.
