    Copy the database?

I'm using one PC for development and one for backtesting. I have just migrated both of them to NT7. I always want the backtest PC to have exactly the same database file. In NT6.5 I always just copied the NinjaTrader.mdb to the other PC. However, with NT7 that doesn't seem to work anymore.

What is the way to to this now? Even if I copy all files from the db directory of PC1 to the db directory of PC2 it doesn't work. I can see the instruments in the list but charts will be empty.

Edit: the database I want to copy to PC2 has of course already been migrated to a NT7 database.

    Hello FireFly,

    Thank you for your post.

Unfortunately copying the database from NinjaTrader 6.5 to 7 is not supported. Within NinjaTrader 7 historical data will no longer be included within the database file as found within 6.5.

If you have NinjaTrader 7 on PC 1 and PC 2 to transfer historical data you will be required to create a Backup on PC 1 with "Historical chart data" selected. Next move this Backup file to PC 2 and Restore this file.

I have provided a link below to our Help Guide that goes over the Backup and Restore feature within NinjaTrader 7.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.
