Connecting to multiple brokers / feeds

I have a question about feeds. If I first connect to zenfire and then connect to velocity, is the zenfire datafeed the one that is used? I'm not sure which is better zenfire or the TT Fix.

Now let's say I add IQFeed in there, if I connect first to IQFeed (and don't have level 2 with IQFeed), what will happen? What if I connect to IQFeed last?

I'd like to get Level 1 data from IQ and level 2 from zenfire. Can I connect to IQFeed first and then zenfire? I'd like my charts to show IQ data and the DOM to show zenfire. Is this possible?

Hello cunparis,

Unfortunately, this is not possible. NinjaTrader will use data from the first provider you connect to for both level 1 and 2 data, even if level II data is not provided through that first connection.

Keep in mind that the component which passes the data request on to the next provider engages only when no data is available.

Sorry to bring up an old issue but it's better than creating a new post:

I connect first to IQFeed. My charts work. DOM is empty.

I then connect to zenfire. My DOM now works.

Question: Are my charts getting their data from IQFeed or Zenfire?

My guess is IQFeed. My guess is the DOM asks IQFeed for L2 and IQFeed says "no" so then Ninja asks Zenfire for L2 and Zenfire says "yes". For the charts, Ninja will ask IQFeed for the data and IQFeed says "yes" so no need to bother zenfire.

Is my understanding correct?

Yes that is correct NinjaTrader will attempt to pull data from your first connection and if the data is not available it will then look to the second connection.

If you are connecting to IQFeed first then this data is providing data for your charts and Level II is being provided by Zen-Fire.
