NT v7.0.1000.1 Global horizontal lines become vertical line on bigger timeframe

    Hello,

I'm running NT v7.0.1000.1 and when I draw global horizontal lines on smaller time frame (5 min) using "Attach To: All Charts," the lines become vertical lines on bigger time frames (15min, 60min, 1440min). They displayed fine on smaller time frames (1min, 2min).

    Please, see attached file

    Hi hcgaloi,

Unfortunately, I can't quite tell what's going on in your image.
Can you set the line to be a very bright color then take another image so that it's obvious to me what I'm looking at?

      Hi Kyle,

Unfortunately I'm total color blind, so I don't know which color is bright for you. However, I made another screen capture and put in annotations, hopefully, that will make it easier for you to see. If there is a particular color that you want, let me know so I can change it... (good thing there are words telling me what the colors are in NT... Some other platforms they don't)

UPDATE: A little correction, I previously saved the drawing global line as default (Set Default in Properties). When it time to draw a line I use F3 shortcut key. Hope this help to make the steps clearer

        Hi hcgaloi,

Thanks for posting the annotated screen shot - I see what you mean.

Interestingly, I'm not seeing the same result on my end. (See attached)

Could you provide me with a copy of your workspace?
You will find the workspace in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Workspaces folder.

          Kyle,
How do I send the workspace to you? What is your email? It's probably better that I do a backup and send you the whole things (workspaces and chart templates...) if the file is small enough

            hcgaloi,

Please attach the workspace here on the forum. I have no need for the other settings you mentioned, only the workspace.

              Kyle,

I can't attached an xml file. It said invalid file format. So, I changed file extension to png. Hopefully, it will work.. Otherwise, let me know how to get the file to you

UPDATE: changing file extension doesn't work either. Uploading said, invalid image format

                        To wrap things up:

This was ultimately found to be expected behavior and was due to all anchor points for the ray existing in the same 60 minute bar. As this was the case, the line was displayed as being vertical in this chart.

Also, the work around is to spread anchor points wide apart if the ray is drawn on a smaller timeframe

Why wouldn't it show as a dot the size of the line thickness instead of a vertical line?

                              Hi eDanny,

Unfortunately, I'm not sure why this scenario is handled this way instead of as a dot.
