    Backfill behavior

I was down for a short time today upgrading from RC1 to the final version.

Attached is a screen shot of the Historical Data Manager showing that after I reconnected, I still had a gap in the tick data from the time I was diconnected.

I have Get Data From Server Checked.

    Save Data as historical Checked

I thought NT would backfill the missing gap from the time period between disconnect to re-connect on the same day, but it didn't. Why?

What is meant EXACTLY by the wording "Reload All Historical Data"?

Does that mean, go to the server, and download all historical data from the start of this chart to the current bar?

    or

Reload all data from the local database?

I am not sure, but Ithink MB Trading does not have every tick as historical data on their server.... I notice subtle changes in my charts if I replace my locally collected and stored historical data with the historical data on the MB servers.

I want to preserve my locally collected data, but it would be nice to fill in the missing gap...

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

Reload Historical Data will reload the entire data set you're viewing. For example, you're looking at a ES 12-10 1 minute chart with 3 days of historical data - reloading will load those 3 days of minute data.

Thanks for the reply Kyle...that's helpful.

So, if you did "load those 3 days of minute data" you mean download 3 days of minute data, and replace the last 3 days of the data I have in my database with the newly downloaded 3 days?

Or does it reload from the local DB first, then go to the server and fill in any gaps?

        Hi Crassius,

To clarify, when connected, the entire 3 days of data would be reloaded from the server. (assuming the data was available on the server, of course)
