    Chart Updates?

I use very small bar intervals (as small as 2 seconds for some charts). Sometimes, it seems as though it will hang up and then print two bars at the same time. I say seems because, with such a small interval, it's difficult to tell, so I cannot be sure. I'm wondering how quickly the ticks are updated? I use ZenFire for my data provider. Also, the Market Replay seems worse. Is there a way to adjust the resolution, so to speak? I have a computer that can certainly handle the extra work, so that's not an issue.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your note.

Please right click on the chart and goto properties: Theres a setting in there called Display Update Interval. You can reduce this down for quicker display updates. This starts to take a huge toll on even the most powerful machines however so be careful here. Would suggest using .1 here and not use 0. But you can try 0 and see if you run into any issues. A value of 0 here will update the chart and indicators on every single tick.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Thanks for your quick response. I'll probably use .1 instead of 0, but I'd like to test 0 and see, but it doesn't seem to allow me to do it. When I enter zero, it sets to .1 automatically.

Also, will using a lower setting on more than one chart be more cpu intensive even if they are the exact same chart, but just different bar intervals?

        Hello,

Ah you must be using NinjaTrader 7 then, looks like we disabled 0 in 7 since it was too CPU intensive for the application to remain stable on most PC's terefor .1 is the lowest you can go.

As far as multiple charts, yes this will double your processing requirment.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Oh, okay, I'm sure .1 will be more than enough resolution. Thank you kindly for you time.

Changing the update interval certainly helped on live charts, but it didn't seem to help on Market Replay. Does Market Replay have a limited resolution, or am I just imagining things?

              Hello,

Yes this is possible with market replay as time stamps recorded only have second interval granularity.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Ah, okay, that's understandable. Thanks for your help.
