Ninja Trader 6.5 and 7.x on the same workstation

Hello.

I have NT 6.5 installed and I want to install NT 7.x on the same machine.

1. Will the installation of NT 7.x modify the NT 6.5 code in any way? I want to make sure that my custom indicators under 6.5, will not be affected by the installation of NT 7.x

2. Will the machine ID of NT 7.x be different from the NT 6.5 machine ID? If the answer is yes, does that mean I have to contact the 3rd party indicator vendor to acquire a duplicate license so the indicator can be installed under NT 7.x?

Yes - You can have both 6.5 & 7 installed on the same PC – they do not conflict with one another. However, you can only use one version of NinjaTrader at a time on the same PC.

Although you can trade live with NinjaTrader 7 we would like to remind you that it still beta software and as such, there is a higher risk of unexpected situations that can arise that can adversely affect your ability to manage orders and open positions. If you trade live, please do so conservatively and with caution.

The Machine ID will match on 6.5 & 7 so long as they are installed on the same PC.
