sync PC clock when NT is open and connecting to IB

Although everyday I sync my PC clock right before market is open, I still see time difference gradually varying around +/- tens of seconds between my PC clock and IB real time data feed time during a day session. Obviously, this time difference causing a lot of trouble for trade trigger based on charting tool. One way I can think of to mitigate this is to run sync more often during the day, say sync PC clock every hour. But here is the question. Is there any problem running sync PC clock when NT charting is running and connect to IB during market open? Could this cause NT to crash?

This shouldn't be an issue but ideally you should locate what's causing such a large difference between the two.
