    Closed accounts and charts not rolling over

    I've been trying to switch over to NT7 but I'm having a few issues in doing so. 75% of my trading is done through automated strategies which I've been running through NT6.5 without any trouble. I converted the strategies and they backtest identically so I'm assuming everything has been converted correctly.

    I will setup my systems the night before. Some of them are scheduled to trigger trades at the 9:30am EST open. However when I did this with NT7, at 9:30am my chart never started the new trading day, thus nothing triggered. I went into the chart properties and noticed the end date was still set to the prior day. When I updated it, things worked fine. How can I prevent having to click this every morning?


    On a separate note. I have several trading accounts that no longer exist which are showing up on my account selection dropdown menu. These are accounts that were closed out several months before installing NT7. So instead of looking at 5 accounts I'm looking at 9. The superdom displays the correct accounts, just not the other menus. How do I clear out these old ones from the memory?

    Hello Shazzmoe,

    Typically you shouldn't need to update this every day. The end date should be the computer's system date /time.

    Recreate your chart (File > New > Chart) and evaluate this. Please let us know if you're seeing the same thing.


    You can delete Sim accounts in Tools > Options > Simulator tab > Click Accounts > Select an Account > Click remove.

    If they are live trading accounts, you can most likely remove by getting rid of any prior executions.
    Click Tools > Options > Data tab > Reset DB to clear out your exe utions.

      Thanks for the fast reply. I'll let you know if it does that again tomorrow morning.

      As far as the accounts go, yes they are live accounts and resetting the DB did not fix this issue. Is there an NT folder somewhere that would be storing this info? It would have had to have some how been imported from NT6.5 (even though they do not show up in 6.5)

        You can wipe out the database which stores this type of info.

        With NinjaTrader closed, rename the NinjaTrader.sdf file found in:
        My Documents\NinjaTrader 7\db\NinjaTrader.sdf

          First of all thank you my accounts are now displaying properly. The charts however, are still not rolling to the new day automatically. If I open NT on the new day it will update properly, however it seems when I leave it running overnight it will stick with the prior day.

            I'm not sure why you are getting these results. We can test this here using your workspace files. Please attach all .xml files here:
            My Documents\NinjaTrader 7\Workspaces

            Indicate what Time Zone your computer is set to.

            Also include your most recent trace file.
            My Documents\NinjaTrader 7\trace\trace.20101008.txt
