I have just switched to NT 7 - When I type in a chart a new stock symbol (I.e. one that I haven't modeled in the instrument manager)l, the following error message occurs:



Isn't there a default set-up option for stocks? I think 6.5 would automatically create new instruments without this error message. It's somewhat frustrating...

Thank you for your post.

In NinjaTrader 7, you will need to manually define an exchange for any instrument you create. Unfortunately, default no longer suffices as the only exchange for an instrument.

Ugh... Really? But 6.5 still has this capability?

Why would you guys remove that functionality from the new build? This adds multiple steps to what should be a fairly straightforward logic... Or why can't i just tell the system it's a stock directly from the chart?

Alternatively, is there a way to import a huge number of stocks so that they are automatically set up?

So for any US stock, I can use NYSE even if the stock is a nasdaq issue?
