Why does the data entry have time as an entry. I'm trying to create a 1x3 esz0 chart with a .5 per and a 1.5 reversal??? Time should not be on the bottom of the chart nor an entry? How do I create this chart?

Hello Bob,

Unfortunately it is as expected that time is listed on the X-axis in NinjaTrader charts. This cannot be disabled.

You cannot use decimal values for 'Reversal' either. I assume 0.5 refers to a change of one tick, so you would enter a value of 3 for 'Reversal'.

Unit of measure for reversal in PF charts

I would like to know what unit of measurement is used by NinjaTrader for the Point and Figure reversal setting. I am guessing it would either be ticks or boxes. For example, my base type and period is 1 tick and my box size is 2 ticks. If I put the number 6 in the reversal setting, does this mean 6 ticks or 6 boxes. If it means 6 boxes, this would be 12 ticks.

Please clarify this for me as different vendors do it differently and I would like to know how NT does it. Thanks.

Reversal is set in number of boxes. Please see the link below for more information regarding the Point and Figure bar type.

Another setting called the Reversal sets the amount of price movement needed from the high/low to change from X's to O's or visa versa. A column will continue indefinitely until price reverses equal to the Reversal amount (set in number of boxes). There can never be two columns of X's or O's next to each other for a given session as any additional X's or O's would just be added to the current column. When a reversal occurs, the new column starts one box size above the last low for X's and one box size below the last high for O's.
