    Simulated Data Feed

    Hi,

I am running version 7.0.0.21. When I use the Simulated Data Feed, I can see the prices changing on the Orders tab. Yet, the charts do not update. What do I need to do to correct this?

    Hello ladytrader

    Thank you for your post.

Try changing the session template to 24/7 & see if the chart updates.

Please let me know if this does not resolve the issue.

          Hi,

I'm also having this same problem. I'm running 7.0.1000.3 beta

tried setting session default to 24/7 but charts still don't update.

DOM and T&S both work fine

          Thanks

            Hello

            Thank you for your post.

Try opening a brand new chart (no indicators or custom templates) and using ‘Default 24/7’ let me know if the data failes to update.

Simulated Data Feed - 7.0.1000.4 - No prices on new chart

                Hello:

I have tried the fix included in this thread, but am not receiving any simulated data on a new chart. I have a simulation price in the instrument manager, and changing the instrument setting to 24/7 doesn't work. Any more ideas on how to make the simulated price work in a new chart? Thanks.

                Tony

                  Hello,

                  Thanks for the note.

Please confirm you are connected to the Simulated Data Feed in the bottom left hand corner of the control center.

Please let me know what instrument you are trying to get simulated data for. You will get live data only from the time you open the chart and the simulated data feed does not output historical data just to make sure we are on the same page here.

I look forward to assisting you further.

                    Simulated Data Feed

                    Hello Brett:

Sorry so late posting a reply to previous post. But restating the problem:

                    connect to simulated data feed
                    chart created with Default 24/7
instrument price changing on Control Center
                    no data changes on chart

Can the program generate the numbers while not connected to the internet? if not, i am thinking something may be blocking the generation of numbers on the chart. anyway, i would be glad to hear of any new ideas to get this working. thanks.

                    tony

If you receive data within the Orders tab you should receive data within the chart. Can you please open a new chart with no template or indicators applied with the Session Template set to Default 24/7 and let me know if the issue persists.

                        Simulated Data Feed

                        Hello Brett:

I finally got it to work last night by right-mouse clicking on chart, selecting Data Series, and changing the Session back and forth between Default 24/7 and US Equities RTH. It didn't happen the first few times, but eventually the chart started to reflect price changes created in the command center. I still am not sure if it is a RAM cache problem or some other internal program problem. The chart eventually started filling whether or not I had a firewall or anti-virus running. This is a neat feature and I will continue to see if I can find out what is causing the problem. Thanks.

                        Tony

                          Hi,

I am also having the same issue, even after following the steps above. I have confirmed that I am connected to the Simulated Data Feed, and am using the 24/7 default Session setting.

The Control Center is showing price changes for my various Default instruments, but no data is ever being displayed on the charts. I've let the simulation run for 15 minutes, and still no data is being displayed on a fresh, default chart (changing the display time does not fix the problem).

It seems like this feature would be very cool, but for now, it looks like it is broken in these current versions of NT7.

                            Hi,

I'm having the same problem with plotting my simulated data feed on any instrument. Using version 7.0.1000.10, default 24/7 session template. The Control Center is showing price changes for my various Default instruments, but no data is ever being displayed on the charts.

Was there ever a fix identified?

                            Thanks.

                              To all,

Since its currently the weekend, most likely you have a session template setup to not display data on weekend days. I would suggest changing your session template to "default 24/7".

You can do so by right clicking your chart > go to "Data Series" > Change your session template.
