Multiple connections

Hi I'm just using the free version of NinjaTrader at the moment.

Is it possible to assign which ever brokerage account we'd like to be trading with to a particular strategy? What if they are all IB connections?

Connection 1: Connected to IB Account 1
Connection 2: Connected to IB Account 2

IE:
Strategy A -> connection 1
Strategy B -> connection 2

Is this possible with the multiple connections version of NT?

Thank you for your forum post.

You would not be able to pick who you get your data from as all data would come from the first supported connection. However this is possible to seperate the account the strategy places the trades do. When you connect to both IB account you will see both account numbers in the account drop down list and you simply start a strategy on each account number.

Connecting to both IB accounts requires some custom settings to allow the connection such as changing the port number. You will need to use different port numbers for each and different Client ID's. Let the first connection use the default numbers and then just add 1 to each for when you setup the second connection.

I do not see the drop down to select different accounts per strategy. Is this something only visible when I purchase the full multiple connection license?

Hello,

Yes you would need to have a live license to open this drop down box and uncheck global simulation mode in the File menu.
