Yes - the bar width is set to 4, both before the horizontal scale changes and after the horizontal scale changes.

If you look closely at the charts above, you can see that the bar widths are still the same, the first without overlap, and the second with overlap. For some reason when the chart begins to show Monday's data (the market was closed Monday), it seems to change the horizontal scaling, reducing the space between candles.

      Day Trading Fool,

From the images you've provided, it looks like you may be compressing the time axis of the chart. If that's the case, the overlapping you're seeing is as expected.

Yes, it does appear that way. But I am not; NT is automatically compressing/changing the horizontal scale. It seems to have something to do with Monday's holiday.

          Day Trading Fool,

Unfortunately, I'm not able to replicate the behavior you're seeing without manually modifying the axis' compression ratio.

In order to further assist, I would need you to provide me with a set of steps that can cause this to occur on my end.

Perhaps using the same chart template? I included mine if you want to try it.

The workspace has been saved with TNA dispalyed on the chart (both series)

            1. Open NT.
            2. Scroll the chart back in time.

It seems to happen right when Monday begins to appear on the chart.

              Day Trading Fool,

Sorry - just to clarify, this file is a template or a workspace?

Also - it appears that the something happens to CurrentDayOHL indicator.

The attached image was taken after I scrolled back (and the horizontal axis automatically compressed), then I stretched the h. axis and changed the candle width back to 4.

Also - something to note: when the h. axis is manually compressed/expanded, the bar width automatically adjusts. For example - when I stretched the axis in the step above, I had to go in and manually reduce the bar width because it stretched as well. In whatever is happening when I scroll back to Monday, the aixs changes but the bar width does not.

                Edit: added the image

                  It is a chart template.

                    Day Trading Fool,

When I follow the steps you've provided with your template in place, I see no difference in the chart whatsoever.

Since I'm not able to replicate this behavior, what I would suggest is that you start with a blank chart and add items to mirror your current setup until you're able to replicate the behavior.

Likewise, if you have another PC available to you, this may help to lock down some steps to cause the issue to occur.

Here is another example of this candle business.

I deleted everything about NT over the weekend and did a complete re-install. New workspace, new templates, everything.

I click on any stock the charts if fine. I click on ROVI - which appears to be using a different session template for some reason (perhaps it wasn't in the list I imported over the weekend, not sure how that works), and the chart goes bonkers.

I can correct this by changing the ROVI session to US RTH.

I do not know if the prior posts on this thread had the same problem/correction - but they look the same.

                        Day Trading Fool,

Please provide me with your workspace once more.
You will find the workspace in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Workspaces folder.

                          Ok. See attached.

I cannot recall if the 5/15 min chart is using the 'Use Instrument Setting' for the session on this version.

I changed it to 'US Equities RTH' for the version that I am using at the moment.

I think the stock has to have a 24/7 session for the problem to show up.

                            Day Trading Fool,

Thanks for providing this workspace - I'm not seeing the same behavior, but would like to test with ROVI specifically.

Can you provide me with the settings you're using for ROVI?

If you have a candlestick chart up
                              right clik on it
                              data series
                              note "bar width"
                              close the box
compress the time axis max u can
open the box, has bar width gone down to 1? close box
                              expand time axis
check bar width again, is it 10 or something?

if u select hi/lo or some other type bar do u still get same problems

i have been fiddling with NT and cannot get overlap of any bars at all

                                got it i think
                                open candlestik chart
compress time axis to max so bars totally squashed
                                check "bar width"
if this is not set at 1 in this condition i do get bar overlap
