NT 6.5 Naming conventions for Future Instruments

Hi, Are there any naming conventions in NT6.5 that I need to know when adding/Editing Future instruments into the Instrument manager? Your ZB symbol is for the 30YR US Bonds, during the Edit, can I change the master instrument to US and not have any issues down the road?


I'm using TradeStation so I would like to see all of NTs master instruments match TS symbols. Are there any restrictions to the Master Instrument symbols that prevent me from doing this?

I should also ask, am I able to edit a file or db with the instrument settings that I want, or do I have to go through the GUI to do it?

W2, if you're using TS solely as connection you should be ok editing them or creating new ones for yourself (I would just add symbols, so you keep a default, shipped state, too).

You would have to do it through the GUI for your futures contracts (for stocks there's a batch / list import feature as well).

With orders being placed though NT 6.5 dll functions, when I go LIVE with trading, I will not need TS external feeds running as any needed prices will be coming from PATS is that correct? or do I still need to run this Exteranl feed from TS.

Correct, then PATS will supply the live feed then, so the External Feed is obsolete then...you may need to import historical data though from TS, as PATS would not offer it.
