    Display Option for Backadjusted Charts

Is it possible to display both the backadjusted and non-backadjusted charts in the overlayed in the same window for analysis purposes?

You would need to create two master symbols for this purpose with the different merging options set for those in the Instrument Manager.

      Great suggestion!

But how is that downloaded and updated from the same datafeed?

Does NT7 have and export function to output a time series then save it to a CSV? Then reimport it again as another symbol?

This should not be needed, just create two master symbols (for example add 'CLCustom') and then setup different merge policies for those individually in the Instrument Manager, you can point to the same map for your provider and exchange.

I notice there are different currency options dropdown menu on the instrument editor.

If I choose Swedish Krona, where does this data come from? If it is derived from one of the currency futures if I choose AUDUSD?

Is it possible to add a custom Currency? or just substitute a different time series and assign it to one of the currencies on the dropdown list?

On some connections (such as IB) it's needed to request the symbol in the correct / native currency - unfortunately you can't add a custom currency here.

How do I connect to the Google or Yahoo Data server? how do I know which symbol to use?

Example, AAPL EURUSD etc...Can you give an example how to place the proper parameters?

You can just take a look at our various connection guides offered -

To get started it would be best to take a look at the a few default symbols and the parameters we've got setup for them in the Instrument Manager.

You can for example check the mapping needed for Yahoo symbols here -

At Yahoo Finance, you get free stock quotes, up-to-date news, portfolio management resources, international market data, social interaction and mortgage rates that help you manage your financial life.

If you were setup the NASDAQ index for example, you would use USD, Nasdaq exchange and ^IXIC mapping under misc - http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=%5EIXIC

                    Thanks

I am now connected to Yahoo Finance via connection manager

                      Then

Ok with your NDX Index example, I followed your instruction then, now I want to download the NDX Data from Yahoo.

DO I use the Historical Data Manager- Download Tab?

Does this data automatically refresh every 60 seconds?

Does this only download data if I choose it and include it in the "default" folder in the Instrument Manager?

                        EURUSD=X

I am trying to download a currency from Yahoo. Is this the proper mapping symbol?

What exchange do I check besides default?

Currencies are not supported with the Yahoo connection, only end of day equities data.

Yes, you can use the HDM to download the data, or setup a chart with your desired lookback.

The 60 secs would be used for the simulated realtime feed from Yahoo, it's the 'synthetic' price update interval.

I accidentally overwritten one of the master instruments CL...how do I restore this without messing up all of my settings? especially all of the rollover rules were also overwritten.
