Spread Chart

Can someone provide my with a step by step of how to chart the difference between two instruments? The most basic of spread charts.

Unfortunately, spreads are not supported within the software at this time.

Thank you for the follow up on this thread.


Unfortunately NinjaTrader does not support spread orders.

With that being said, there have been some indicators created which can assist with placing spread orders.

To import indicators you will need the original .zip file.

Here is a basic guideline of how to Import indicators.


To Import
1. Download the indicator to your desktop, keep them in the compressed .zip file.
2. From the Control Center window select the menu File > Utilities > Import NinjaScript
3. Select the downloaded .zip file
4. NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.

Critical - Specifically for some indicators, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc. and ask if you want to replace, press 'No'

Other users have sent in suggestions for this ability to be added to NinjaTrader and I will forward your request to our development team to add to our tracking list. I will update this thread with the tracking ID#.

Thanks for the info and link Ryan.
I was able to import the indicator.
And I changed it to report on the closing price.
However I dont see how I can subtract the closing price of the month I want to be short from the closing price of the month I want to be long. And how to select the commodity, financial, etc.

now can this indicator show a single spread line that plots the result of subtracting the short from the long (or vice versa)?
