NT7 Multitask - Simulation, Trading, Development

I notice when I am running a simulation, it suddenly aborts when I start another task like strategy development/coding/compiling

downloading data is also another trigger which causes the simulation to abort.

Is NT7 capable of multitasking? Or am I stuck for the next 15 hours waiting for the simulation to conclude before I do any other task. (and hopefully it doesn't crash so I don't have to restart.

Oil_Trader, I was able to bring up a NinjaScript editor window, make changes, and compile the script all while an optimization was going on. I was also able to download data while optimizing. Does your PC have a multi-core processor? Under what circumstances does NinjaTrader abort an optimization for you? Can you please list out the exact steps so we can try to reproduce?

It's been now 23 hours....and it says another 10 hours left.

2.4ghz processor Intel Core Duo
2GB RAM
windows 7

windows performance metrics says 99% CPU Load and 68% RAM Load

is this normal?

I will try the multitasking once this run concludes. I don't want to risk a simulation abort.

Downloading data while simulating is ok. (downloaded different time series from data being simulated)

When I edited and compiled the same strategy I am simulating, that's when it popped up this screen.
