System Time vs. Broker Time

I have a strategy that trades the opening gap. Basically it enters a market order at the open if certain criteria are met.

If I have the pit open in the strategy set to 6:30 am, the trade is entered when the clock on my computer says 6:30:00. If my clock is a few seconds fast, it enters the trade a few seconds early. I assume this is expected behavior.

Is there a way to enter trades based on my brokers (Interactive Brokers) time? If not, I'd like to request that as a future feature.

Also, does anyone know of a good, simple utility that will sync the computer clock to NIST automatically a few times a day? I know Windows already does this but only every week or so.

Hello gregschr,

Unfortunately there's no way to access your broker's time currently. I will pass on as feature request.

Hopefully another community member can offer input on a time sync utility
