    Dom Buy/Ask in Parenthesis

This has probably been asked before.

I notice on the Dom that you will get what shows (1) 1088.00 or (10) 1087.75, etc.

Most of the time you get the (10) bolded, and sometimes you get some that aren't bolded.

Could you tell me what the difference is?

    Hello Ironman10,

    Thank you for your post.

The number in parenthesis indicates the last trade size. This is reflected in bold font when you are connected to a data source. If you are not connected then this numerical indication will not be bolded. (see screenshots)

Please let me know if you have another instance that you would like me to address.

    Thank you,

What do you mean "connected to a data source?" Could you explain that?

        Hello Ironman10,

The phrase “connected to a data source” is the state when you have NinjaTrader connected to your data provider and/or broker.

When you are connected the NinjaTrader Control Center will indicate this by a green highlight in the lower left-hand corner (see screenshot).

Please let me know if I can answer any additional questions.

While seeing it I was still connected though. I never "disconnected."

It would be like (in a sequence):

          (1) 1088.00
          (5) 1088.25
          (1) 1088.00
          (10) 1087.75
          etc.
          etc.
as it was bouncing up and down between the bid and ask.

            Hi Ironman10,

This is to be expected, as the numbers in parentheses indicate the number of contracts, and if they are bolded it means those contracts occurred at the either the best bid or ask price, which matches the last traded price.

When it is not bolded it means that the last trade occurred at either the bid or ask price separate from the the best bid or ask, which are the bolded numbers.
