replay and stocks

Hi

I would like to practice some stock trading on end of day data. I have ninja trader 7 and esignal.

I tried to download replay data from ninjatrader's servers and it only supports futures and currencies. I tried to record market data, but that only seems to record data from today.

how do I go about getting historical replay data to practice trading stocks? (e.g. how do I get a couple of years of a stocks data as replay data?)

Hi bernard,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader support forum!

For replay data which is not taken from our servers, the recording will need to occur in real time. Due to this, historical stock replay data will not be available to you.

NinjaTrader will record replay data only when connected to your data provider and displaying the instrument you wish to record.

so let me get this right, if I switch recording of replay data on, it starts recording from the most recent bar (even though the chart itself may have a couple of years of data on it)?

Once you enable Run Market Replay recorder, you will begin recording data the next time you log on to your data provider.

Does the recording include all historical data on the chart or just the data that is recorded from the moment you load the chart?

Historical data already on the chart will not be included.
