Connecting to IB without updating database.

Is there any way to connect to IB without having NT start updating the instruments in instrument manager?

I am using a workspace that has nothing open yet it insists on downloading new data unprompted and I end up clicking ABORT as quickly as I can. Unfortunately I can't click it fast enough to not have it write over my merged files and rewriting the data from the previous contract while it was the front month.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your post.

I am not aware of how to prohibit the automated update/loading of data once you connect to your data provider.

Perhaps you can set up custom data sets that would store these merged files and therefore would not update. This would allow you to import the data into your charts when you want for analysis.

To do this you would just use the Export utility in NinjaTrader and then save the archived files their own directory.
