    Keeping Strategy/Connection Active Overnight

    I have a TT data feed. The connection cuts out at 4AM EST for an unspecified period of time, disabling both the data feed and my strategy. Upon automatically reconnecting, the data fails to reflect current prices, but rather, prices remain stuck at the 4AM level. What settings should I use on the "On Connection Loss" tab in order to ensure that the data feed and strategy will remain active following a disconnect/reconnect overnight? I would like to set up NT such that I do not have to manually refresh the data feed connection and re-enable the strategy every morning.

    Please see the link below under 'Understanding the NinjaScript tab' for information regarding the different handling options.


    When you get automatically re-connected, do you always experience that price is stuck? Or does it update after a while?

    In addition, you can configure the TT disconnection time in the TT connection wizard. Please go to Tools-->Account Connections, highlight the TT connection and click Change.

      Hi there,

      I have a Kinetick realtime data feed. Similar to the other user I lose almost every night the connection and my strategies are disabled. I have read the link below, but it does not solve my issue:


      My goal is that despite the connection loss I get a reconnection and most important my strategies keep running, since I trade overnight strategies.

      Currently I use the following settings:
      ConnectionLossHandling = ConnectionLossHandling.KeepRunning;
      MaxRestartMinutes = 600;
      MaxRestartAttempts = 20;
      RestartDelaySeconds = 123;

        Hello Peter,

        Your strategies should not terminate and should keep running with your current settings. Can you please send me your log and trace files. Go to Control Center-->Help-->Mail to Support in NinjaTrader. Put 'Attn Jason, Keeping Strategy/Connection Active Overnight' in the subject field and enable 'Log and trace files'.

          Jason,

          One issue you should also check is, why my daily bars are not updated on the next day. Even if the Connected - Kinetick connection is green again. I have always to restart NT once again.
