How many days back did you request for the chart? I was able to pull up daily data for the SI 09-10 contract when connected to Kenetick with 300 days back.

We have our comprehensive NinjaTrader 7 help guide which has tons of videos added already and more is being added continously.

I followed your directions and successfully loaded a chart! Yea. Then I tried to load the chart of SI 09-10, but I received an error message indicating 'SI 09-09 Nymex is an unknown instrument'.

I understand NT 7 is still in beta, but is there a comprehensive tutorial I could research?

Thank you for your forum post and welcome to NinjaTrader!

Currently the Kenetick free connection only support End of Day Daily data. Therefor you will only be able to pull up daily charts when connected to this data feed. Please right click on the chart and select data series and change this chart to be a 1 Day chart and you should be able to bring up data.

If you need intraday data you will need to suscribe to a broker that will provide this data for free or pay for a data only service to get data for stocks intraday.If you send a note to sales at ninjatrader dot com and reference this forum post we will be glad to help find the right data feed provider that will work you for you.

Hello. This is my inaugural post! Since I am new to online trading but am conversant with investment vernacular, I appreciate your patience with me and my questions.

I successfully installed NT 7 and connected to an external data feed (kinetick). I do not have an account with a broker at the moment. I am simply interested in learning how to use this piece of software without starting an account. Is this a mistake? In attempting to bring up a chart by file>New>Chart>AA, a new window opens but no chart is loaded.
What am I doing wrong?

I combed through the help section and did not uncover anything germane to my dilemma. I am behind a router and have not forwarded any ports. Is this something I should do?
