computer speed

Hi,

I've noticed that sometimes during fast markets, the quotes will freeze up before resuming a few seconds later. Would it help if I got a better computer? I'm currently using a pentium centrino duo (1.66GHz)with 2 GB Ram. Or is this just a problem on the data feed side. I'm using Trading Technologies.

Thank you for your post.

This issue occurs when NinjaTrader does not receive the incoming data due to the performance demands on the PC from the high volume. In general a PC with greater RAM and processing speeds will handle these increases in high volume data more efficiently.

However, short of that you can refer to the following performance tips to see if you can prevent this issue on your current PC.
