Hi, I'm thinking about buying a new computer. Backtesting and auto-trading with NT would be it's primary usage. Will NT7 make use of multi-core machines or is that just wasting money? I'm more interested in the backtesting as I do quite a bit over significant time frames. I currently use a duo-core machine with 4 gigs of ram that does okay, but can get bogged down and I'm just wondering if a quad-core with more ram would make that much difference?

Thank you for your post.
NinjaTrader 7 is optimized to make use of multiple cores, so you should see some improvement here.
Depending on whether you are running a 32 or 64 bit operating system, adding more RAM may or may not help.
The .NET framework caps all 32 bit applications at 1.2 GB of memory - 64 bit applications are capped at 2.4 GB.KyleNinjaTrader Customer Service
