After hours index data disappearing with IB

I use IB and have the data recorder turned on, but whenever I reload historical data, after hours index data disappears. I have both data series set to 24/7. Happens with 6.5 and 7. Thanks.

Hello,

The connectivity provider servers probably don't support off market data. When you reload you are replacing data on the charts with the connectivity server data.

I am not reloading, the program reloads everytime I connect. Is there a way to update the chart with new information so the recorded/saved data isn't deleted?

When you "update" you are reloading. I am aware of no way to do what you want, but this link may help with understanding when a reload happens:

I just want the data that I could see before to be there when I have to restart the program.

Unfortunately when such data disappears from the chart historical data is loaded from the connectivity provider , since it does not seem to be available.

If you do not want data to be loaded from the connectivity provider, please see the link Ben posted at post #4.
