Volume or tick chart on IB

Hi,

Thinking of consolidating all my accounts with IB, but I just realised that I can not get a tick or volume chart (or at leas the history) on the ES, minutes are fine.

Is this the case, do I need to change something in NT or at IB data feed?

Phil, thanks for the post - the IB connection does unfortunately not provide a historical backfill for tick based intervals, you could connect to a third party feed like DTNIQ, BarChart or eSignal first and then to IB for your account / execution access.

I'm considering running a tick based strategy on IB.
Is it okay to use IB as datafeed provider and run a 300tick strategy on a live account?

Also, what about the volume indicators?
Do they work okay with IB?

Yes, you can use the IB live feed provided tick data - however please keep in mind it would be in snapshot format.

NT's PowerVolume indicators should work ok with that feed as well from my experience.
