Just to be sure you realize I have NT 6.5 on my computer which I would like to keep. I believe NtDirect.dll is also in that version?

I have reinstalled NT 7 three times now, and I still get the the same error,
I have searched my C drive for the NtDirect.dll. It now shows up in four places: In the NT 7 bin and NT 7 bin 64. In the NT 6.5 bin and in a folder called Windows/SysWOW64. At this point, I dont know where it is supposed to be.
Please let me know how to fix this problem.

Thanks for reporting back Asing - just to confirm: you removed all occurences found (except the 6.5 ones) before reinstalling the latest NT 7 beta?

What exact error would you then get, still the same folder related one?

Could you please direcft your logs / trace via the Help > Mail to Support feature to my Attn?

I still get "can not find GetSpecialFolder in DLL file NtDirect.dll". I do not know if I should delete the file in SysWOW64 folder.

Yes, please unintall NT7, delete any occurences of NTDirect.DLL excluding the ones showing up in the 6.5 related folders and then reinstall our latest Beta 18 fresh. Ensure to clear your browser history / cache before downloading so you would be sure to download the latest installer.

Pleaee also import our ELD's after the install fresh and overwrite the already present studies when asked in your TS.

Sorry this thread is a couple of weeks old but...I just "upgraded" to Tradestation 8.8 and Ninjatrader 6.5.1000.16. I had previously been running TS 8.6 and NT 6.5.1000.15 and everything worked fine.
Problem now is that the .txt files are not being UPDATED - after upgrade.

I noticed in the release notes for 6.5.1000.16 specfically sites problems with the ELD files. When I go to reinstall the ELD files from \Program Files\Ninjatrader 6.5\bin\Auto Trade\ the date on Ninjatrader.eld is 4/12/2010. The release was date 6/10/2010. Do I have the correct ELD file?

No, unfortunately not, this file seems to old, can you please reimport and overwrite the studies on TS with the one attached?

Thank you for the quick reply. When I try to re-import the stregies and functions back into TS. I get a message that says they are already there. Then after searching around I figured out how to delete the imported NT strategies and functions. Once I deleted them the import worked (at least no messages). However, when I go back and check the imported ELD files NTDataDowload still has a Modified time of 4/12/2010 3:09:00 PM could you check the file you sent me and verify the time stamp on the NTDataDownload document.

You're welcome - the file is the correct one to use and works as expected on latest TS 8.8 (B 6013) and NT 6.5.1000.16

I verified the import is indeed working. I went into EasyLanguage and added a comment to NTDataDownload and then went back imported again - comment gone and time stamp 4/12/2010 3:09:00 PM.

Sorry my last post (#26) was submitted before I saw your reply.
I am on the same build TS 8.8 (Update 6013) and am using 6.5.1000.16. I imported the NinjaTrader.eld that you posted and it still is not working. I even tried deleting the old instrument .txt files that 6.5.1000.15 was creating fine before I upgraded TS.
I am still a bit suspicious of tradestations import process. Can you tell me which functions in 6.5.1000.16 were changed or give me a time stamp of one of the files besides NTDataDownload? Any other ideas about what to do?

I get the same timestamp as you for the NTDataDownload strategy - let's try this - do you have NT 7 installed as well? Would you mind giving the attached ELD a try? This would put the exports in NT7's MyDocuments\NinjaTrader 7\import folder then - I'll look into reproducing your setup here shortly.

I dont have NinjaTrader7, but I will load it and try the second ELD you provided.

With regards to the first ELD you provided, I did a file comparison (see attached) and it looks like the functions and strategies in it are identical to the original ELD (dated 4/12/2010 post #22) that is from 6.5.1000.15. Could the the wrong ELD file have been provided in the lasted release?

Ok I installed NT7 and loaded the second ELD file you provided. It works; the files are created. That is the good news.
Bad news...a sample 1-min chart does not seem to be updating (but that could be user error given I have never look at NT7). Also, I have a 3rd party app (TPO Chart) that I need to use so I am not sure NT7 beta is a solution for me.
