    Ib + yahoo

Can I use IB for intraday and yahoo for EoD in same session? IB does not return more than 100 days worth data so trying to fall-back on yahoo...

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello TraderSU,

    Yes, this is possible.

You will want to connect to Yahoo first and then IB. It will collect daily data for yahoo and intraday data from IB.

See here for more information on how NinjaTrader works with multiple connections.

Wow, the solution is so simple and obvious. Didn't click me though. Thanks a lot.

Loading realtime intra-day NYSE-TICK gets stuck if Yahoo connection is alive. Historical is fine. Any workaround?

          Hello,

No, Yahoo does not support intraday with NT:

Sorry for confusion, I am connected to yahoo as first connection and IB as second connection. My realtime tick does not load until I disconnect from yahoo.

To reproduce the issue, connect yahoo + IB and pull ES 06-10 and ^TICK in same chart with 1 or 2 minute timeframe during marker hours.

Like I mentioned before, for daily or weekly charting I need more than 100 days worth data so need yahoo as primary. May be I can try to edit the ^TICK through instrument manager and intentionally screwup the yahoo mapping. Loading ES intraday data is absolutely fine... Only TICK is screwing up.

              Hello,

If you connect to Yahoo first, you will only get Yahoo data for any data that Yahoo supports. IB instrument types that Yahoo also supports will be masked by your priority connection, namely your first connection - Yahoo in this case. This link will help:

Not sure why NYSE-TICK is getting intercepted by yahoo.

                http://finance.yahoo.com/lookup?s=tick ; I don't see any matching result.

^TICK is in the same category of instrument type as equities. When you connect to Yahoo first you are saying use Yahoo for all equities. You would just have to connect to IB first to have IB provide the equities data.

May be, I can create a new instrument; MYTICK and assign it's mapping for IB only..? And use it... I tried but no luck...

Gotta to be some better solution that makes me say WOW :-)

Unfortunately we do not have a better solution at this time. We will let you know if a different configuration is possible.
