Trendlines not redrawn correctly?

Don't understand how the trendlines are redrawn when you draw a trendline on a weekly chart and expect the charting tool to correctly redraw the trendline on a daily chart.

The 1st chart is a weekly chart of the 2nd chart (daily chart).

As you can see, the trendline in the weekly chart touches 2 highs but on the daily chart, it is clear that the highs only touched the trendline once.

I'm confused.

Welcome to NT forums!

This is something that can be expected with viewing the same drawing objects on different time frames. When you have the trend line drawn, there are only two points to go from: The anchor points on both ends.

When you look at the daily chart you are getting a higher resolution chart and it can appear differently than the lower resolution weekly chart.

I've asked that and the answer was no. It happens in the strategy analyzer too when you look between executions.

Unfortunately, this is what you'll see on hand-drawn trend lines. You may get better results when using code-based trend lines. There is a sample implementation of code based trend lines in our file sharing section.
