Market replay

step by step, with new nt 7, how do I do a market replay?

If I want to paper trade? Do I have to record data like with old 6.6? or can I download info (trade inf0) and then play it back?

Hi Gregory Arkadin,

1. To enable Market Replay

• Left Mouse Click on Tools menu and Select Options
• Left Mouse Click on the Data tab and Select Record for Market Replay

2. Once Record for market replay is enabled data is recorded for any instrument in any NinjaTrader window that is receiving live market data. Level II (market depth) data is only recorded if a Level II, SuperDOM, or FX Pro window is open and receiving data for the instrument. The Market Analyzer window is the recommended recording window as multiple instruments can be added to one Market Analyzer window and all recorded at the same time.

3. You can also download Market Replay Data. To download Replay data:

• Connect to your live data feed or the Simulated Data Feed by left mouse clicking on the File menu in the Control Center, selecting Connect and left clicking on the connection.
• Next, select the File menu in the Control Center, select the menu item Utilities and select Download Replay Data... The Download Replay Data window appears.
• Select the instrument and date of the desired replay data and press the OK button to begin the download.

4. Then connect to Market Replay. To connect to Market Replay data:

• Left mouse click on the File menu in the Control Center
• Select the menu item Connect
• Select the menu item Market Replay Connection

"Connected - Replay" should now show in the lower left hand corner of the NinjaTrader Control Center.

5. Once connected to the Market Replay data (see the "How to connect to Market Replay data" section above for how to connect), the Replay control window will appear.

At the top of the Replay control window, the replay speed and current replay date and time are shown. Below that you can select the replay From and To dates.

6. The Replay control is set up much like a DVD player. The following controls are available:

• Play button: Starts the market replay
• Pause button: Pauses the market replay
• Speed control button: Each successive click increases the speed of the playback
• Slide control button: Selects a point in time to start replay (sliding during playback will reset the Replay 101 account trade history)
• Right Click Menu: Right mouse clicking in the Replay control window will bring up the right click menu with the two following menu items:

when I download the data and try to play it back, nothing happens..the chart shows but there is no movement of bars

When you right click on the Market Playback Recorder Bar and then choose available instruments do you see the instruments available.

Then if you left click on the plus sign it will breakdown what days you have data for, and if you navigate to one of those times when you have data are you able to view data.
